Timeline of RPG Maker XP game:
XP Era

In 2007, we tried RPG Maker XP for the very first time but deemed it too difficult then. However, less than a year later in mid- 2008, gave it another go. After slaving away through youtube tutorials and with many trials & errors, we found determination. Here are a few bookmarks we had saved from our old laptop:
Tutorial Videos from High School
During the remainder of 2008, we created a simple, linear game with 2 maps to experiment with scripting:
The first was a vertically long map containing the main character’s home. The second was an asymmetrical maze made of plants located to the left of the first map. We were also using an animated side-battler script instead of the default battle engine.
Unfortunately, our Inspiron 1501 got infected and bogged down or became unusable. Resulting in us getting it reformatted from Windows XP to Windows 7. This would be the last time we’d personally use Windows XP as well. At the time,We weren’t skilled in backing-up our data nor did we have the hardware resources to do so so unfortunately that project as well as the majority our old Vugo media files were lost to time.
By the start of 2009, we had become overall adept in the basics of the XP engine. We did tinker with the basic fanslation of RPG Maker SUPER DANTE on SNES via our hacked Wii but didn’t really do much until about a decade later. Even then it wasn’t much.
Throughout 2009 devoted a lot of time to programming our “real” project: Elez & Elexy RPG: Seekers of the 12 Crystars. By year’s end, the game had at least a solid hour of gameplay. We took a pause to go back and give it a proper opening sequence as loading up to the twins standing in their room lacked not only a RPG feel but just a gaming feel in general. Progress would slow down due to seeking and implementing new scripts & mechanics.
From then until college in August 2010, we put a lot of work into the game; from beginning to finish up the last maps around Elez encountering ShaoSnaurzle and meeting Nanae to starting Elexy’s Gyleon story. We however didn’t finish the post-Zyphur Herb events where the player switches to controlling Elexy and Kirutaka. This was however completed within a week prior to January 24, 2022.
During the early 2011, we put the game on hold to re-organize its assets now that we felt adept at using the engine as a whole. During that time, we let VX slip by as we were completely unaware of it. But when we heard of VX Ace we bought it in 2012 and for better or for worse, abandoned our first and most familiar engine in XP.
With the complete visual archiving of Elez & Elexy RPG: Seekerz of the 12 Crystars in eleven parts on our Youtube page starting on our birthday in 2014 and slowly finishing in Jan. 2022, we updated our backup files and officially put RMXP to rest outside of nostalgia reasons.

Like we stated in the XP Era section, when VX Ace was released on December 15, 2011, we officially stop re-organizing & abandoned the XP engine to carry over our skill to the new engine. Not much from RMXP could be directly repurposed for VX Ace outside of images files so we’d be starting from scratch with a whole new variety of updated scripts and features. It was also around this time we updated our old Inspiron to a Dell XPS 17 (l702).
Between getting our new laptop & getting fired from our first job in early 2013 we wrote out most of the game’s early script and after some playtesting, was satisfied with the new plugins and their functionally in our planned game. With that, we then officially started work on Elez & Elexy: Crystar Seekerz.
Now that we were starting fresh, we could tweak the twin’s personalities better unlike their more stereotypically rash & careless boy and naive yet responsible girl archetype that was heavily influenced by our RP’ing days on the Elite X Mario Kart Wii xat chat. Those can be read in the Elez & Elexy: RPG Addition Notes section at the bottom of this post which may be moved to the character bio pages for Elez & Elexy when we create them.
Between March and our trip to Japan on July 12, 2012, we created everything up to the West Shizura map: excluding half of the town and most of the underground/water section. The sky area was also completely absent. In time, Meleanour & Gizeo eventually found their place in the game alongside Fuénia.
Work continued rather consistently on the project from then up until our second trip to Japan in December of 2015. At this point, we had implemented more scripts and fleshed out parts of the game that we considered stable like everything pre-West Shizura. After wrapping up the events pertaining to the transition from West Shizura to the island where Vifroverne resided along with Nanae event being completed and Kirutaka‘s in the works, we started working on the twins home and the story beat that acts as the contention between the twins and the motivation for them entering Vifroverne against their mother wishes.
This is where our life got busier and we return to college so work slowed to a near-complete stop. At this moment, this is where the game sits and like with our XP project we hope to get around to at least finishing the Childhood Prologue of the “Destined Heroes” Arc. However unlike our XP project, that is considerably more work as we still have more maps & scenes to create. We want to finish it but with changes in life we don’t know if or when we will return to it but we do look at it from time-to-time. Some of those unfinished notes can be found under the VX Ace Gallery at bottom of this post.
RPG Maker VX Ace is by far our second most familiar engine and most used engine to date. Unfortunately, said busy-ness in life hasn’t allowed us to sit and do much worth noting in the following engines MV and MZ.

Elez & Elexy: Seekers of the Crystars
MV Era
While in Japan, specifically between the late Nagoya-early Kanagawa trip in February of 2016, we learn that RPG Maker MV was released a few months prior. Purchased it within a week of returning home from Japan on March 3, 2016.
Like with XP & VX Ace, we downloaded and experimented with a script and planned a project not revolving around Ælementz but instead Prysmeria: Protectors of the Crystal Spires. We carried over even more skill from VX Ace but unfortunately due to life, nothing much has come of MV outside of the script testing phase and the creation of two maps; one for the real world and one for Kreustrial.
MZ Era
Now we have arrived at the latest engine as of 2022 and we’ve essential done the same as we did with MV but on one map. Now unlike previous generation the best plugins are no long free so there little motivation for us to make a project were not going to go all in on because they are not cheap.
We’re happy for the years those programmers worked for free and it was only a matter of time before this happened. Currently, we have no plans to do anything with the latest engines but we now just have a bad habit of buying the engine partially for nostalgia reasons and not having time to use them.
We’re not teens with a ton of free time anymore and we simply don’t know if we’ll continue with the RPG Maker series unless we truly buckle down.
Since we’re working on our stories and scripts more often, our focus has shifted to programs like Ren’Py and VN Maker despite RPG Maker being a good vector of storytelling as well.
Below is something we threw together to play around with the engine back in 2018. In retrospect, a lot of the bios in this game are beyond outdated and nothing about this says Ælementz outside the eight main characters. Just hit the Play Game button to mess around with it. Hit Unload to unload the game so it isn’t consuming addition resources as well as playing BGM if you are still viewing the page.
Elez & Elexy: RPG Addition Notes:
v1. Elez & Elexy: Seeker of the 12 Crystars
2008-Spring 2011: Age 16-19
The origin of the names Elez & Elexy can be found in our original nickname “Elementz”. In 2008 we joined a Mario Kart Wii racing clan known as Elite X. We joined as Ex*Elementz but after some time our friends started calling us Elez(Elementz) and we’d often RP and that how the Elexy name was born. At the time we were writing Elementz(v3) around Ryon and co. So while pondering on an idea for an RPG after becoming interesting in RPG Maker XP, we decide to make the twins the eldest siblings of Ryon & Alex and gave them their own story. As for Kirutaka & Nana were based on our clan-leader in Elite X and or e-romantic partner at the time.
The plot was that the Master Crystalement was shattered by the Shao during the ancient Starrie; something akin to a meteor shower. Due to falling in pairs, only twins could withstand the energy given off by the Crystars. So Elez/Elexy were tasked with collecting the main 24 Crystars, but the duty was split between them and their rival who were also a pair of twins; Sora & Lora.
Brief Character Bio:
Elez was a carefree and reckless adventurer who often spoke before he thought. His mother often describes him as “spunky” and “lively”. Despite these characteristics, Elez is serious about matters regarding the Crystars he and his sister as well as Sora & Lora are searching for. After his first encounter with them in Forrest, Elez is easily angered when confronting the Shao forces. He also looks up to his dad and looks forward to succeeding him as “Father Gale” descendent of the Wind Zenith Ghelforne.

Ironically in XP, Elez’s wielded Water and Nature as his Ælementz and his Wind is seemingly dependent on his Burly Stick as he has to retrieve it first before the player can use his Wind skills. Thus, he doesn’t actually use his Wind at the beginning of the game nor is it as fleshed out as his Nature & Water skill tree. Also to kick him while he’s down, he couldn’t breathe underwater despite being more proficient in the Water Ælementz than his sister. These were due to poor writing and breaking the rule of our series to play around with more scripts. Both of these are rectified in our VX Ace project.
Elexy was more naive than studious when compared to her current incarnation. Her mother often describes her as “sweethearted” and “naive”. Elexy idolizes her mother and tries to emulate her at time, often to a fault as she doesn’t understand what works for her mom won’t always work for her. Like with Elez, the corruption of Vinem and the damage done to Forrest helps her mature and she wants to fix the Master Crystalement and defeat the Shao.

Eventually, Elexy slowly finds her own mold while gaining a strong sense of responsibility about whatever she feels is her duty. This in turn will aid her in succeeding her mom as the next “Mother Nature” descendent of the Nature Zenith Vifrosse. In XP, Elexy wielded Nature and Water as her Ælementz as well as Earth. Like in Elez’s case, until she retrieved her Wood’n Moonrings alongside her brother, her Earth is unusable at the beginning of the game and is not fleshed out going forward. Sadly, despite being a direct descendent of a Gyleian and a distant descendant of a Gorgriumian (Grulonian during this game’s creation), she has a very specific weakness to certain Wind-based illness which is exploited by the Shao. This is scaled down in the VX Ace project.
Front left-to-right:
Shaolez, Shaolexy, Shaosora & Shaolora
Sorayne is a childhood friend of Elez due to the closeness of their mothers during their youth. Even in his youth, Sora has always had a lot of confidence in his skill which often led him to be confrontational with others he considers his equal. Unlike Elez though, Sora is more concerned which defeating the Shao and stealing the glory from Elez & Elexy by collecting more Crystars than them. Regardless, Sora understands the threat they are up against and only revels in his victories if the moment allows. He attacks with a pair of gun-like weapons known as his Plasmite Shooters. He also wields the Plasma and Ion Ælementz and excels at dealing high damage to solo targets. It is unclear if he seeks to succeed his parents since he has the blood of the Psulamonian Zenith Newip coursing through his veins.
Lorayne like with Sora, she and Elexy are friends due to their parent’s relationship during their youth. Her attentiveness greatly varies based her likes & dislikes or how serious she perceives any situation. These two can be seen when she’s following her brother’s logic or lead versus her sparring with Elexy since to her, it’s the most efficient way for her to learn and grow stronger. Due to being a bit charismatic, Lora often follows her brothers lead despite being just as capable. Once she learns of Elexy’s involvement, she is just as eager as her brother to be seen as the ones who saved the Master Crystalement. When confronting the Shao she is more cautious than her brother and despite her rivalry with Elez & Elexy, she trusts the information that they share with each other when their paths cross. She wields an ionic bow known as her Ionae Bow. She also wields the Ion and Plasma Ælementz and excels at dealing moderately high damage to multiple targets. It is unclear if she seeks to succeed her parents since she naturally possesses the same Zenith lineage as her brother.
Kanji; nicknamed Kenji, is one of Surtus’s younger brothers who came to Vyneon to retrieve his family’s Sparx Stone. We would say it seems that Surtus had rubbed off on him but this is during v3 of Elementz; so Surtus would have never been on Tehrundiale (Thundra in v3). This item was located within Forrest which was proving to be quite daunting to the young Tehrundialian. He couldn’t find it in himself to face Vinem until the twin found him, with their help they freed Vinem and travelled through Forrest together until Kanji found the Sparx Stone. As much as he would have loved to help the twins face the dark force that corrupted Vinem, being in Forrest for as long as he was has put massive pressure on his ability to maintain his Electricity. With this, he parts with the twins and wishes them luck and hopes to see them again. He fights using his family’s Tsujiro-style of martial arts while electrifying his attacks. He wields the Electric and Earth Ælementz and excels at dishing out physical attacks that stun and paralyze his foes. Like Surtus, he descends from the Zenith Potential’d Zetrius.
Nana was a caring individual from Musae who has been tracking the Shao for quite some time with her partner Kirutaka. They have a different reason for pursuing the Shao. For her, the Shao kidnaps her parents and are forcing them to compose melodies and music that makes it easier to manipulate their target into aiding in them obtaining their goals. This eventually leads her to Gyleon and having a fateful encounter with Elez. Due to being directly affected by the Shao and her persistence in seeking out answers, both twin’s parents inform her of their children’s mission should they encounter each other. After aiding Elez in retrieving the Zyphur Herb, she tells him that before they head off to Kaze/Fuku no Tokai to reunite with his sister and her partner. She wields a harp that is personal to her. Her Ælementz are Music and Light and excels at party-wide support and enemy debilitation. She is also a descendent of the Zenith Potential’d of Musae.
Kirutaka was a chivalrous individual from Zumetreia who is helping Nana in her effort to save her parent and undermine the Shao forces. Unfortunately, we never got around to fleshing out Kirutaka’s backstory in XP. This is seen in the fact that for some reason he has an established outhouse in Forair; which is Wind equivalent or Forrest. He would have been briefed on the Master Crystalements situation as well so when he rescues Elexy he understands the importance of aiding and protecting those with Crystars. After Elexy’s stabilizes they head for Kaze/Fuku no Tokai with haste in hopes of reuniting with his partner and her brother. He wields a sword hilt from which he can materialize a variety of elemental blades. He possesses the Mancy Ælementz and excels at using his varying elementals to strike his foe’s weaknesses. He is also a descendent of the Zenith Potential’d of Zumetreia. This was around the time we were organizing the project and never got around to making a battle sprite for Kirutaka.
In retrospect, we find it interesting that he and Nana are in Forair and Kenji is in Forrest as in the currently established v4 lore, only the Zenith’s Potential of those planets can enter these areas. Even stranger that he also had an outhouse conveniently on Gyleon that had the cure for Elexy’s Gyllusiuma.
Trivia:
- Elez and Elexy’s in-game art uses our digitally colored art of Ryon(Ryune) and Sena from v3 as a base. Just with alternate colors.
- As for Sora & Lora, the same is the case but they use Whittney’s(Wren’s) character art as a base.
- In addition to this, Kanji art is simply his older brother Surtus’s character art completely unaltered.
- In Sena’s original drawn artwork, her legs are not visible so when using her art as a base for Elexy, we had to add them without having the scans to guide us. We also had to alter her hands and they were in Ryon(Ryune) hair in the original.
- During the development of this game, we encountered two bugs that we simply couldn’t fix despite our best efforts. Those being:
Being afflicted with Poison or any of the Soft(DEF-) or Sensitive(RES-) debuffs would cause all physical attacks and skills to simply miss, even after we applied maximum accuracy as an additional effect to these debuffs.
The Common Event controlling Elexy’s Wave Slam upgrade to Tidal Rush wouldn’t trigger, even when we set the value to one. We believe this may have been due to a conflict with another script but instead of going through every script, we simply created an item known as Pure Aqua that automatically unlocks it after the player has completed Forrest and teamed up with Pyro and Psy. This item is left on the table within the Oshinayara’s home beside the letter Maylene left.
v2. Elez & Elexy: Crystar Seekerz
Active: 2011-Mid 2015: Age 19-24 ~ Haitus: 2015-now: Age 24-now
In the 3 years we spent in XP we wanted to revise the way things worked based on the ever-updating lore of v3. Along with this revamp we also wanted to correct errors and inconsistencies.
The plot, for the most part, was the same however the bigger change was that there were now two phases of the game and Three Arcs; the Kid and Young Adult/Adult Phases & the Destined Heroes, Destined Rivals and Entrapped Lovers Arcs. The Kid phase was to introduce the player to the galaxy of Eligere Xi (Elexeyun in v3) and afterward give a lot of backstory to characters, important events, and general info about the galaxy. The Kid Arc would also serve as a tutorial regarding the game’s Free Turn battle system and overworld mechanics. Key mechanics include:
Flow:(Battle) Chaining skills together at only the turn cost of the initial skill.
Skill Coalesces:(Battle)performing team attacks. Certain Coalesces require a set amount of turns to pass, these are known as Focus Coalesces. On the other hand, you have skills that require you to wait a certain amount of turns before the skill becomes available known as Renew Coalesces.
TwinSync Skill:(Battle) Unique to Elez & Elexy as well as Sorayne and Noreάlene (Lora in XP). While all can be seen by the player, they must use their basic TwinSync and work their way up the ladder to unlock those stronger abilities. Said skills also reduce Twin Asynchrony and only affect the set of twins they belong to, regardless of party size.
OverFlow:(Battle) previously known as HerOverdrive. They are strong signature techniques of any of the playable characters. These are typically strong with a high chance of applying multiple effects on their target. Can be S. Coalesced.
Interactive Influences:(Battle) Engaging with allies or enemy can affect their stats, often a wildcard.
Lhermestere:(Field) Or traversal via ones Ælementz. This includes things like flying through the air, walking, diving or swimming in bodies of water, formation of passageways or landbridges via earth, etc.
F-Links:(Field) Forming bonds with others not only unlocks skills for you but for them as well. Can unlock certain story beats with certain characters to gain access to additional bonuses such as passives, items and access to certain areas.
Another critical plot change was the reason the twins could do it, this time they were targetted directly by the Shao due to their ancestor’s involvement in them being sealed within a space known as Shal’des. Elez/Elexy along with Sora/Noreά were afflicted with the Shao energy and abilities against their will while Kirutaka/Nanae’s(Nana in XP) were fully corrupted outside of their mind & heart which constantly struggle to fight it off. Also due to this, we could introduce a pair of non-twins who could embark on a different adventure but with the same end goal as the two sets of twins. This allowed us to write Nanae & Kirutaka in properly as a part of the overarching plot. The new goal for all 3 routes was not only the collection of the Crystars but to stop Yazzen, Namius, Polzinae, and their leader in order to purify themselves and restore the Master Crystalement.
New Allies: Gizeo, Meleanour & Fuénia
Shal’des’s Overseers: Yazzen, Namicus & Polzinae
Character Updates:
Elez; following in his father’s footsteps, goes by Elez Terehne Oshinayara. He was reckless overall but more well-versed in the world of adventuring when compare to his XP counterpart. Despite his nature, he could often be responsible and very reliable regardless of the situation. This made him responsible for explaining how the flow of battle works to the player as well as traversal in the overworld when asked by Elexy. He also wields the Elos Aventura that was given to him by his father and acts as the player mission log. While still looking up to his dad, it is evident that Elez is quite intimidated by him and often feels pressured to perform in a way that proves he is able to take up his father’s mantle one day. We fixed the errors we made with Elez in XP. Right of the bat he wields Wind, Water and Nature with his prowess in each increasing from Nature to Wind. His Burly Stick is replaced by V’fere; a bio-morphous stick that he sowed within Vifroverne long ago, with Zy’fere; a thick yet agile Gyleon-grown vine at V’fere base.
Like in XP, he excels not only in dishing out physical damage but is also really skills at multi-hits, debuffs and select ailments. His signature skill was known as Recklez which reduced his defenses, ailment resist, item efficacy and accuracy to greatly bolster his health, strength, counter chance & critical chance. When Elez is given a chance, he can choose between Light or Music when creating an initial F-Link with Nanae. If he chooses Light, he will have access to the Light Ælementz & its healing effect & attacks. However, if he went with Music, he would have access to its strong party-wide support skills.
Elexy; following in her mother’s footsteps, goes by Elexy Sayane Yvenne. She was now more studious & cautious when compared to her XP counterpart. However, she still retains her habits of trying to emulate her mom though not to the same degree as she did in XP. In her youth, she is the opposite of Elez in the sense that she has a reserved personality and is rather obedient to her mom. Like with Elez, Elexy was given an Elos Toune by her mother which acts as a glossary regarding characters, items, lore, etc. When used in battle, Elexy can discern the stats and biology of her targets. She also wields Nature, Earth & Water from the start with her prowess in each increasing from Water to Nature. Her Wood’n MoonRings from XP were meant to be a pair of chakrams made solely of wood. These were replaced with a pair of chakrams known as E’fore & Apor’a. E’fore was alive with color & could foster a variety of flora while Apor’a had a natural base with water circulating in and throughout them.
Like in XP, Elexy excels at dealing out elemental damage, bursting enemies with elemental criticals, healing and select buffs. Her signature skill is known as Toune Yomu which simply revealed all the stats & data of a select target. Due to the urgency of when she is contacted & F-Links with Kirutaka, she has no choice but to choose the Mancy Ælementz which would allow her to draw upon Qînercî from around her, granting her a great deal of versatility.
Sora’s uses his father’s last name was now known as Sorayne Ikejosura. He didn’t change much from his XP counterpart. Despite his confidence, he would also try to size up his target to gauge their strength, something he learnt from his many bouts with Elez. He’s would have also been good at pushing peoples buttons and leading them on.
We would never get around to programming Sora but if we did he would once again excel at dealing out high amounts of damage to single targets and piercing defense. His signature skill would have been Plause Trigger(formerly a weapon), which would recharge his Plasmereaver’s Plasmesis and allow him to utilized Plasmags. His Ælementz would remain unchanged at this point. His Plasmite Shooters from XP were replaced with his Plasmareaver; an amorphous plasma-base gun-like weapon that fired shots of Plasmesis as well as Plasmags and other plasma-type shots.
Lora’s name changed from Lorayne to Noreάlle before finally settling on Noreάlene Kariyune which is her mother’s last name. She was to be more observant and adaptable than her brother. While Elexy is good at allocating data, Noreά is better when it comes to execution. This results in a positive feedback loop between her and Elexy as they go back-and-forth learning off one another, usually off of the battlefield. Her variance in attentiveness from XP remains the same in VX Ace.
Like with Sorayne, we never got around to programming her but if we did she would still excel at hitting multiple targets with little loss in power while being Qînercî efficient. Her signature ability was to be similar to her brother but if we had to give her a new one it would have been Ionic Reresonance which would trigger a set amount of previously fired Ionesis to boost the spread damage or added effects to her Ionic skills, consuming them in the process. Her weapon is mostly unchanged except for the name which was now known as the Ioen Bow. It is an amorphous ion-base bow that specializes in firing off multiple ionic arrows. Noreά primarily uses it for setting up her innate ionic skills instead of targeting her subjects.
Nanae full name was and still is Nanae Ishibara. Like with Kirutaka, her time-skip personality isn’t explored nor did we come up with the method the Shao used to find her but it most likely would have been similar to the methods used against Kirutaka. When brought to Shal’des she met another who shared her fate; Kirutaka. The rest has already been stated in Kiry’s entry below.
Outside of the corruption scene, there is no programming relating to Nanae but she would wield a variety of healing and musical support skills as well as a select amount of offensive Light skills. Stat-wise, Nanae would have had high Intellect and Resilience as well as decent evasion to both physical and elemental attacks. If she were to have an ability it would be Solacing Serenade/Serenade of Solace. While it will have no effect on her it would increase an ally’s stats; some or all depending on the song, by 100%. By nature of being music, anyone who hears its will gain the same buffs but it is divided equally amongst them. Ie. Nanae + 2 allies will only see an increase of 50%, +3 only 33%, +4 only 25%, etc. When F-Linking with Elez in a non-New Game + file, Nanae can only select Water or Wind through Nature ultimately fits her the best.
Kirutaka still doesn’t have a last name but maybe it would have been a play on Tran. While time-skip Kirutaka isn’t explored, Kid Kiry was sought after by the Shao who laid ruin to a neighboring town and proclaimed to continue if the descendent of the Mancy Zenith known as Kirutaka wouldn’t give himself up. To prevent further damage, Kirutaka said goodbye to his family and siblings and accepted their terms not knowing their reason. He was then taken to Shal’des where he eventually met another captive; Nanae. Unbeknownst to them, the Shao let them contact the twin in order to initiate their corruption alongside theirs due to being exposed to Shal’des’s vile Qînercî. Afterward, their Werlls were corrupted while the seed of corruption was planted in their hearts. This would be used by the Shao to keep Elez and Elexy in check throughout their journey.
Outside of the corruption scene, there is no programming relating to Kirutaka but he would play like an enhanced variation of his XP self. He is a jack-of-all-trade master-of-none. His stats are rather balanced and his Mancy grants him elemental versatility. If he were to have an ability we call it Endow/Draw and it would either change his affinities or use a random skill based on his environment at half the cost. His weapon may have still been the hilt but now we’re thinking of something more along the line of an object that changes its form and function based on the Ælementz currently being utilized. When F-Linking with Elexy in a non-New Game+ file, Kirutaka can only select Nature or Earth.
Character’s New to Crystar Seekerz
Note: We condense their data a bit but still ended up writing a lot. May revise later.
Gizeo Tectumanni was the first of 3 new ally characters in the Destined Heroes Arc. Currently, he is the second oldest of Fazione and Shijime’s four children with his elder sibling being Daultae and younger both being his sisters. He originally wielded Metal, Thunder and Gravity but we also added the Phantom ability to his repertoire. Gizeo is a descendant of the Zenith of Metalloy that invented and develop KoglocTech for the people of present-day Raiontekigu. However, in recent generations, Daultech has pushed KoglocTech into obscurity with his siblings adopting Daultech alongside KoglocTech instead of remaining purely KoglocTech. Daultae was so in tune with it that they change their name to make that fact known and the two of them go back in forth with one another. Despite this Gizeo grasp Daultech’s basis but tries to remain a KoglocTech purist. His time would be spent mostly in seclusion in the Erunic lands of his ancestors; Colgarehm with his biomechanical creation turn partner Kuggerviante, deep in study. This would change when Meleanour came stumbling onto their sacred land and caught the attention of an ancient Kogloc being known as D’gefr. Despite his absolute lack of interest in interactions with others, Mel pushed his buttons enough to force him to return her to Ualtse; the nearest nation to his homeland.
Afterward, his mother urged him to go collect rare minerals with his new “friend”. Annoying and outnumbered he look to the brighter side of things as his mom also suggested he could develop new KoglocTech with those minerals. Feeling he had no choice, He decide that planets like Gorgriume and Vyneon would be good places to start and ultimately decide to be under the watchful eye of Maylene on Vyenon. Upon their arrival, Maylene help them naturalize to the setting of Shizura and showed them an area they could develop how they see fit. Gizeo use this opportunity to build a factory-esque home for the pair and they lived out their life here for some time before running into the twins.
With new tools at our disposal, we wanted to give characters outside of the main 3 pairs unique fighting styles. For Gizeo, his fighting style would be centered around his pair of BioShift eGeras that focused on GeraDrive; offensive skills and GeraGrind; defensive utility skills. However this got slightly reworked into his:
Cycloide Shell: a part of his arm, specializes in Geratrograde, formerly GeraGrind. Grants access to defensive, supportive and utility techniques but prevents the use of abilities reliant on Gerasonance.
Epicycle Chassis: a part of his arm, specializes in Gerasonance, formerly GeraDrive. Grants access to offensive, debilitating, and utility techniques but prevents the use of abilities reliant on Geratrograde.
Harmone Frame: ???, based on ancient KoglocTech and doesn’t have the same restriction as the others or allow more practical shifting between the two. Also has access to skills unique to itself.
While the first two are available from the start, the third is unusable until certain missions are completed and new minerals are acquired along with increasing his Intellect. Overall Gizeo traits made him more of a tank that can do other things but slowly. He has the highest overall Defense and Resilience stats when compared to the others but his other stats; excluding Intellect are average to slightly below average.
Time Skip Gizeo: In the time skip, the Shao would have led an assault that forced Elez, Elexy and their allies apart. This would lead to Gizeo and Meleanor being targetted by Shaolez and Shaolexy respectively. Being copies of the twins, they know their allies well and unfortunately for them, they confided in the twins the critical weaknesses of their Elementz and or biology. This leads to Gizeo’s fatal weakness being taken advantage of by Shaolez leading to his death shortly after the time-skip. This death can only be avoided in New Game+ as Elez will have a premonition about this and is able to thwart it in some fashion.
Meleanour Zyndala was the second of 3 new ally characters in the Destined Heroes Arc. She is the middle child of Mezue & Merelda. Her older brother was Mervun and her younger sister was Madelyn. She wielded the Magic, Psychic and Light abilities. Overcoming the trials on her home planet of Mahounosahje, she ventures off to other planets to hone her abilities and test her limits. This eventually led her to Raiontekigu where she ignore the warnings from the natives not to venture into Colgarehm. Once there she was surprised by all the machinations that decorated and littered the area. Her curiosity led her to awakening a KoglocTech being known as D’gefr which proved difficult for her to handle as her Magic was nullified by its ancient Metallodial body. Just as she was running out of options, Gizeo appear in response to the Erunic energy that powered D’gefr. The first experience she had with Gizeo was not of the emotionally-stunted and densely introverted boy he was known to be, instead fueled by his curiosity he confronted and disengaged the situation with great zeal.
Unable to tolerate her curiosity about the area he reluctantly returns to Ualtse with her. And with persuasion from his mother, they both set out on an adventure together. During this time Meleanour realized how ill-prepared she is to become a Majhe. With this, she; like Gizeo, would be studying subjects and abilities to help her overcome her shortcoming. However, her method seems to conflict with Elexy’s to varying degrees.
Meleanour fighting style is that of a magical glass cannon. Wielding her Touhnex, she is able to evoke a myriad of magical spells and abilities. With her Psihonex, she is able to enhance her Psychic abilities. Unique to her was that she would have to either find or transcribe new pages with her Touhnex to gain access to either stronger versions of her Magics or unlock branching skill paths though we never got around to it. On the other hand, her Psihonex was used to cast hexes/enchantments to cover her glaring weaknesses. These would have been harder to unlock but greatly increase her viability against abilities of that type.
Overall, Meleanour has amazing magical burst damage and her spell variance allows her to take advantage of enemy weakness to always be hitting for neutral damage at worst and critical weakness damage at best. Her Intellect is quite high with her Resilence following right behind. Unfortunately, her Health and Defence are average-to-slightly below average so she can’t take too many hits. While having above-average Elementals(EP), some of her Flow chains can get costly and her Offense stat is abysmal. She is also more susceptible to being inflicted with ailments compare to the others.
Time Skip Meleanour: Same as Gizeo but this time Shaolexy can be thwarted in New Game+ due to Elexy having a premonition.
Fuénia Mediana was the last of the 3 new ally characters in the Destined Heroes Arc. Fué is the second oldest of her mother’s Faye & Lamine 5 children. Be descended from the Zenith line that wielded the Recovery ability, Fué pride herself on tending to the feeling and injuries of others just like her mothers. However, she has an absolute adversity to offensive abilities which is in part due to her younger brother Zuen who hates how passive his family is and actively fights against his healing abilities. As a result, Fue found herself always cleaning up after her brother’s mess with the silver lining being that the people understood that this was a deviation from how the Mediana family usually operates. This means Fué can only defend herself by reluctantly inflicting her aggressor with abilities like Hollow or Vampen so her Healing abilities or their attempts to heal themselves actually hurt them.
After wearing away at one another Fué and Zuen went their separate way with Zuen also distancing himself from his other siblings. This led Fué to Vyneon yeras before the story of the Crystar Seekerz was to take place. Here she became a pupil of An’ann and her sister Menity who broaden her horizon in regard to other healing methods. She would live a mostly shelter life around Shizura refining her healing abilities but was still very conflicted about her brother. After meeting Elexy, she eventually opens up more as Elexy help her brainstorm ways to come to terms with her brother’s rebellion.
Fuénia doesn’t really have a fighting style as she is only skilled in healing abilities. As stated before, her limited “offensive” abilities lie in her handful of abilities that allow her healing to deal damage like Vampen, Empty or Hollow. She wields her three pairs of Spherix:
Dea- which specializes in restoring & managing Health, Elementals and OverFlow and their costs.
Rema- specialized in granting buffs and removing debuffs as well as preventing buffs from being removed and debuffs being inflicted.
Mira- specializing in reviving allies and granting them strength to rise again immediately should they fall. Upon revival, they could also be possibly granted Regens or Eregens stronger than those granted by Dea.
On top of being an advanced assuager, Fué has also built up an immunity to afflictions that could prevent her from taking care of others. However, this also means that some of her ace abilities will prevent her from maintaining the team’s condition each turn either due to forcing her to recover her own strength at best or causing her to pass out at worst. In either case, she will rise of her own strength a few set turn later but if KO’d by her own abilities, healing abilities or items from other will yield no effect on her.
Overall, Fué is pure utility for the team and in most situations offers no offensive support. She has high Health & Elementals as well as relatively high Intellect and Resilence. Her other stats are average but her Offence stat is naturally the worst all of the characters, sitting at almost the lowest value possible.
Time Skip Fuénia: Never got around to planning one for her but may have involved her brother forcing her into a life or death situation outside of New Game+.
Yazzen, Namicus and Polzinae weren’t developed too much outside of being the generals in charge of their master mission and troops.
Yazzen was the most passionate and aggressive member of the trio. The firey vengeance he has in him would see his people avenged/freed. He has learned that strength alone won’t see things through and has grown from this with his fellow Shaoxians.
Namicus was the coldest and most calculated. She wasn’t one to show emotion as she has dulled them throughout her life. She does what’s most logical to her mission and disregards feelings.
Polzinae was callous and sadistic. They didn’t care if they would be the one’s receiving or dealing out the pain & suffering but had no issue doing whatever it took to achieve their goals short of undermining their fellow Shaoxians.
Front left-to-right:
Shaolez, Shaolexy, Shaosora & Shaolora
Nanae & Kirutaka Fate
Finally, let’s talk about the fate regarding those not collecting Crystars, Nanae & Kirutaka would be released from Shal’des after their corruption and allowed to roam free due to their predicament, they chose not to return home until they are purified. In the Adult Phase when the Shao version of Elez, Elexy, Sora & Noreά split from them after tainting them with Shao Qînercî, Nanae and Kirutaka can sense the individuals they formed a bond with all those years ago and seek them out for assistance. After F-Linking with them to Lv.2(the first and only required F-Link post-timeskip), its up to the player to keep up with their bonds. Depending on how far you advance these relationships, you will get one of the three following outcomes.
Canon Ending: This outcome is achieved when Elez & Elexy max out their F-Link with Nanae & Kirutaka. That’s when they come to understand that they were selected because the Shao foresaw their relationship and saw it as a method of manipulation. Also, all the missions required to max the F-Link has staved off the Shao influence within them. Once Shaolez & Shaolexy are defeated they rob Nanae & Kiry of most of their Shao Qînercî granting the twins Shao version freedom from the Yazzen and their leader control, mostly purifying Nanae & Kiry as a result. With this, they are able to provide backup to Elez & Elexy in their Arc alongside Sora and Noreά in defeating the ones who corrupted them and damaged the Master Crystalement.
In the epilogue, the Master Crystalement is restored and all parties are purified. Their Shao version now had their own mission; to replace their originals should they break the promise they made to them, thus keeping them on their toes. With this, Elez and Nanae & Elexy and Kirutaka enter the serious relationship that the Shao sought to exploit. Nanae would travel with Elez and keep him in check while he entertained her as usual. As for Elexy and Kiry, they would travel to better understand their Ælementz, getting ever-closer along the way. Ultimately they would start families of their own while continuing to potentially succeed their parents.
Neutral Ending: This outcome is achieved when the player at least completes one optional mission. They come to the hypothesis that the Shao knew they’d synergize well and that the Shao was going to use this against them. This has allowed them to hold off the Shao influence in them though it is still taking a toll on them. It seems the Shao’s seer was off as Elez & Nanae as well as Elexy & Kiry feel something but ultimately is overshadowed by trying to find a way to purify themselves. Upon the defeat of the Shao versions of Elez & Elexy, they try to claim Nanae & Kiry Shao Qînercî but it was still too concentrated. This results in Shaolez & Shaolexy losing the budding independence they had and becoming slaved to the Shao yet again, forcing Elez and Elexy to destroy them. Nanae & Kiry are not able to provide backup for Elez and Elexy alongside Sora and Noreά in defeating the ones who corrupted them and damaged the Master Crystalement.
In the epilogue, the Master Crystalement is restored and all parties are purified though it seems Nanae & Kirutaka still suffer from when they were corrupted and return to their home planets to heal and resume their normal lives. Elez, Elexy, Sora and Noreά also return to their normal lives and training to become the successor to their parents.
Bad Ending: This outcome is achieved when the player doesn’t complete any of the optional missions with Nanae & Kirutaka. They come to the assumption that their being targeted by the Shao was happenstance and work together only when their path crosses. Nanae and Kirutaka felt something about Elez and Elexy would help them escape their fate but the twins were simply too busy with their main mission. It seems the Shao seer was wrong as Nanae & Kirutaka are not only slowly losing to their corruption but also feeling trapped with no help. Upon the defeat of the Shao versions of Elez & Elexy, they try to claim Nanae & Kiry Shao Qînercî but its concentration was so strong that Shaolez and Shaolexy went rogue and fled. Nana & Kirutaka then begin to lose to their corruption and they express their fear and loneliness all this time. Elez and Elexy express regret and they should have been keener to the signs and messages they were being sent. Despite their best efforts Elez and Elexy aren’t able to save them and they lose to their corruption becoming Nanae of the Shao and Kirutaka of the Shao before being recalled by Polzinae. Before confronting the ones behind their corruption and the attack on the Master Crystalement, they are forced to fight Nanae and Kirutaka. It pained them to do but they knew that the two of them needed to be released from this terrible fate. After a tough and emotional battle, Elez & Elexy are forced to kill the pair. Sora and Noreά eventually catch up a vow to help them see this through as those two also helped them. With the help of Sora and Noreά they defeat the ones who corrupted them, force them to fight and kill Nanae & Kirutaka and damaged the Master Crystalement.
In the epilogue, the Master Crystalement is restored and both sets of twins were purified. Elez and Elexy make it their utmost important mission to get Nanae’s and Kirutaka’s remains back to their home planets and apologies to their families. With their Spirit & Soul safely in their respective realms, their family thanks the twins for their efforts. Sora and Noreά slowly return back to their normal life but Elez & Elexy take much longer to recover, jeopardizing their chances of succeeding their parents to their siblings.
There are many more details we’d like to log but this isn’t the post for it so in the future the contents of the game with get their own post and the above section may be moved there in some capacity.
